Letter from The President
Dear Fellow Bahamas IC Members,
As we move into another year of tennis, friendship, and competition, I want to take a moment to share a few highlights and what lies ahead for our club. The Bahamas IC continues to thrive because of the spirit, sportsmanship, and support each of you brings to the game, and we look forward to another active season together.
The 2026 season is already off to a strong start. Under the leadership of Bahamas IC member Alex Murbach, the long-standing IC tournament was reintroduced as the Nassau Cup. Played in a round-robin team format, the event brought together players from across New Providence and offered a rare chance to see professionals, top juniors, elite club players, and local amateurs competing side by side. It was a terrific showcase of the depth of tennis talent in The Bahamas and a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections across our tennis community.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming Gene Scott Trophy with the USAIC, with dates to be announced soon. This event will continue our tradition of spirited competition, camaraderie, and support for the growth of tennis throughout the islands.
We have also launched our new Bahamas IC website, which provides members with more detailed information on events, results, and activities. The site also makes it easier for players and their families to access grant information and apply for assistance.
Thank you for your continued support of the Bahamas IC. Your enthusiasm and involvement are what keep our organization strong, and we always welcome your ideas as we work together to grow and strengthen the club.
With great appreciation,
Kit Spencer
President, Bahamas IC
